Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark brown color with a slim cap of a little off-white foamy head which slid off delicately to barely leave any lace
Aroma: dark fruits, milk chocolate, woody spices, light banana, treacle, touch of vanilla wafer mixing it up with some earthy to semi-Belgian-like spices
Flavor: blends the prior mentioned aromas nicely to a semi-Belgian yeasty to dark fruity and chocolatey character; slight aftertaste of the Belgian yeastiness and dark fruity to chocolatey tone
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper; nice movement of the Belgian yeasty tones spiking on my tongue (seemed appropriate); finishes somewhat Belgian-like with some peachy to apricot sort-of-thing going on
Overall: so I guess this is some sort of Belgian imperial stout, I guess? Well, sure I'd have another.

Pint can from Niemuth's, 1/29/23. 2022 vintage. Thought I had tried this before, but apparently not. Very dark brown, thin fizzy head, poor retention. Aroma fo plum, banana, roast, chocolate. A bit phenolic. Taste is roast, cherry, earth, leather, stone fruit. A tad bit thin. Well balanced. Nice beer.

$3.80 pint can, WW. As much as I complain about prices these days, this appears, at least before sampling, to be quite a bargain. And a Festivus reference to boot! Pours dark brown, not quite black. Appears to have some haze as I pout. Beige head. Nose is plum, coffee, hint of cocoa. Flavor is plum, chocolate fudge, cocoa, roasted malt, light char, caramel. A bit on the sweet side, but not cloying.

Prune and coffee nose, fudge underneath. Black, medium tan head. Prune, charred oak, coffee, blueberry. Full body, easy carbonation. Nice balance and complexity. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The label on the 16 oz can says Belgian Inspired Imperial Stout. I like the sound of that. This 2021 vintage brew came from Half Time, the tab is flipped and I pour inside of my New Belgium tulip glass. The arrival is a dark mocha brown liquid with a head of finely bubbled, light tan foam. An inviting smell, chocolate, fruit and grain. And is that yeast too? The glass is lifted for the drink. Wow, this is pretty decent. A light chocolate intro along with malt, strawberries, wheat bread, plums and yes, there is yeast also. Lots of dark ale sweetness with imperial stout taste and heft. I am reminded greatly of the Ommegang/Alesmith collaboration beer, Philosophy and Velocity: East Coast Edition, which is the better of the two versions. Very much, to me anyway, an equitable combo of imperial stout and Belgian ale. Good venture.

2021 edition. Black body, thick brown head. Vinous nose with dark leathery fruits, coffee, and toasted sugars. Sweet body, lots of grape and berries, also cocoa powder and a touch of clove. Odd, unbalanced. It's hard to believe this is really 10.6% ABV.

Can. For as strong as this is, the palate is surprisingly light. Roasted malt and a little chocolate and sugar. Very drinkable, and it reminds me of a dunkel.
