A Hex Against the World is a blend of mixed culture beer fermented and aged in barrels and refermented on apriums.
The 2020 harvest blend includes a saison brewed with wheat and oats and fermented in acacia and a spelt saison fermented in oak. This blend was refermented on 'Candy Cot' apriums grown in Selah, Washington by Collins Family Orchard. Collins Family is a fourth generation farm which has been in operation for over 100 years in the Yakima Valley.
This beer was refermented to condition in the bottle with gyle.

Hazy and pale. Medium head. The aroma is full of plums with light pale malt. On the palate, there's good bugs and slight acidity, with a bright stone fruit character. The fruit is quite tart, and it's really one of the tarter, drier Floodlands I've had.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with lots of apricots, floral notes from the fruit, and gentle acidity. Flavour is quite acidic, with lots of apricots and nectarines (okay, nectarcots), moderate acidity, and a touch of bugs. Tart, acidic, floral, but retains a nice juiciness to it. The bugs are rather buried and cover up some of the complexity. Good but below the usual Floodland quality.

Bottle thanks to Anthony. Pours a cloudy yellow with small white head that lasts. The aroma is funk, yeast, stone fruit, wood. Slick body, lemon, stone fruit, wood, funk, nice tartness, enjoyed this.
