Double Vision Doppelbock highlights our brewery's wonderful glacial spring water and was brewed in strict adherence to the Reinheitsgebot. This beer has a luxurious tan head and a bready aroma with a hint of smoke and is dark leather in color with ruby notes. It is lightly spiced with Liberty hops, an American version of the noble German Hallertau Mittelfruh, and fermented with lager yeast from a monastery near Munich. Doppelbocks were developed by the 17th century Paulist monks of Munich. To help them through the Lenten and Advent fasts, they brewed an especially nourishing dark lager they called "liquid bread" and named "Holy Father."

Pours a near black from a bottle. Nice roasty caramel aroma, similar flavor with a nice Hallertau profile. Well-balanced sweetness. Pretty good beer.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Pours out a silky smooth dark brown with a small ring of head. Dark, roasty malts, slight bourbon aroma. Taste is super smooth, slides over the tongue. Roast malts, brown sugar chocolate, wood. Alcohol warmth comes in late and lingers. Excellent!

From a 75 cl bottle, vintage 2015. Pours a hazy dark mahogany with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon and oak. Flavors of bourbon, vanilla and pit fruits, with a hint of chocolate. Medium bodied. Smooth finish.

From a Howler at Liquor Shed. $ 13. 99

Pours a dark brown with a smallish tan head of foam. Very little lacing.

Malty almost roasty malt aromas mixed in with the Bourbon Barrel aging. I dig how much of the base beer shines through in the smell.

The taste? I reckon aboot 50-50 ratio between the malt and Bourbon and that pleases me so much. Bourbon Barrel Aged Doppelbock? I doubt that it could have been done any better.

High end of medium bodied, not too much carbonation to get in the way.

Splendid job, Grand Teton!

Bottle from Albertsons. Seems light on the pour, lots of carbonation, frothy head with sticky lacing. Roast malts on the nose, and then gets deeper in taste. Mefium weight body adds to the experience, it all feels right. Not quite Celebrator, but not too far away either.
