Double Vision Doppelbock highlights our brewery's wonderful glacial spring water and was brewed in strict adherence to the Reinheitsgebot. This beer has a luxurious tan head and a bready aroma with a hint of smoke and is dark leather in color with ruby notes. It is lightly spiced with Liberty hops, an American version of the noble German Hallertau Mittelfruh, and fermented with lager yeast from a monastery near Munich. Doppelbocks were developed by the 17th century Paulist monks of Munich. To help them through the Lenten and Advent fasts, they brewed an especially nourishing dark lager they called "liquid bread" and named "Holy Father."

Medium brown. Just a thin, bubbly head. This has a nice big bourbon vanilla aroma, with a deeper caramel, toffee malt character. The body is a bit light, but nice malts, nice bourbon accent. It's lighter than I would have expected, but has a nice complex malt-barrel note.

2015 vintage. 12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bourbon barrels upfront, with bready malt, and red fruits. Flavour is loaded with dark red fruits, gentle bourbon barrels, and bready caramel. Lovely fruitiness and gentle bourbon character. Lovely.

Bottle from the Liquor Store & Wine Loft in Jackson Hole. Dark, dark brown with a creamy beige head. Lovely vinous aroma with burnt caramel undertones. Taste is dominated by a berry tone up front but quickly melds into the sweet malty base, full of dark chocolate, caramel, Schwarzbrot. A mild sour note carries the finish. Body is heavy, carbonation is soft. Tasty! Reminds me more of a stout/bock hybrid than a traditional German Doppelbock but it suffers none from it. Very nice!

Draught @ Aslan Depot. Amber/ brown, frothy, sweetish, toffee, woody, tart, which is disappointing. Really a big letdown. Shit, this got derailed but that inappropriate tartness.

12oz bottle pours a muddy brown with some creamy, off white head. Nose has clove, candy, brown sugar, dates, raisins. Flavor has raisin, butterscotch, vanilla, sticky toffee. Finishes sticky.

Pour at RBSG, dark brown in color with a small ring of beige head. Smells fantastic; dark fruits and bourbon barrel sweetness. Big malty flavor is sweet and woody, lots of barrel influence, but in no way hot. Very silky smooth. Delicious.
