Stenocereus Hylocereus, aka pitaya or dragonfruit is a fruit bearing cactus enjoyed throughout the central regions of South America. The red-fleshed skin surrounds an inner white freckled fruit that I often likened to kiwi similarities in appearance and mild sweetness.
This delicious brew is created by aging Sour Reserve on fresh Dragonfruit. Expect aromas of cactus flower and fresh green pepper, with flavors of lemon, tart fruit, and watermelon rind. Enjoy with jerked chicken, good company and key lime pie.

Bottle: Pours clear...wood-tinted gold with almost no head. Very sharp lime, slightly salty, vinegar scent. Peppery, very tart/acidic fruit taste. Grows oaky as it warms.... Sharp and tart, not a bad flavour, but not quite up to par with Upland’s usual offerings.

Bottle. Vinegar, lime and malt aroma. Golden yellow with minimal head. Sweet tart citrus, vinegar, malt, and dry hay flavor. Green pepper aftertaste. Nice balance. Pleasantly surprised with this - didn’t expect dragonfruit to really do much since it doesn’t have much of a flavor to begin with.

Dragon fruit makes for a different fruit infusion on this. Adds a little to the tang. Pours amber with OK head and lacing. Pretty sour too. Good lambic bretta. Bottle.

Bottle courtesy of shrubber85, thank you sir! Not quite a gusher, but definitely a continuous ooze. Slightly hazy pale golden yellow color, small white head, solid lacing. Aroma of dusty, floral tropical fruit. Taste is tart citrus, green pepper. Very tasty.

Bottle thanks to Chris. Pours a cloudy orange yellow with small white head. The aroma is a strong dragonfruit and chilis, grass. Sour bite, wheat grass, light dryness. Very good.

Sample during the Secret Barrel Society tour on 05/24/2014: The beer is a clear orange-gold color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Sparse strings of lace. Oak and tart fruit aroma. Light to medium body with flavors of tart citrus, melon, oak, yeast and doughy malt. The finish is tart and oaky with a dragonfruit aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
