Pours murkey brown , not much head . Smell is sweet . Earthy , bit ’plastic ’ . Taste os a bit bitter , coffee aspects , as well as dark malts and some sweetness . Still got the ’plastic’ character though .

Cask at Bluejacket. Creamy perfect cask feel. Spot on for the style. Minty tinged hops, nice thick chocolate crystal and other specialty malts. Steady chunky off-white head on top of a black-brown body.

Draft at the source on 5/23/14. Cloudy dark brown color, nice beige head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma is a nice blend of floral and roasty on a background of subtle pine. Taste has cocoa powder, burnt coffee grounds, bitter licorice at the finish.

4oz pour at the brewery pours a murky caramel brown with a ring of off white head. Nose has a fair amount of pine, some orange peel, some bread crust, herbs, soap. Flavor is alright, pine is the predominant flavor, caramel, a little bit of dried apple, orange, bread crumb, a little peppercorn. Oily finish.

Oak and a very harsh astringency in this one. Pours brown without much head or lacing on cask. A light ctirus aroma but black wheat controls the overall flavour here. Some roast. Not sure I love this. Cask at brewpub.

Taster at the source thanks to Travlr and solidfunk. Thanks guys! Poured a dark brown color with light brown notes on the edges. Aroma is light, early hop character, sweet malts. Light chocolate malt character, with some touches of wheat. Better balanced than most black IPAs seem to be.
