A strong & warming ale for the cooler months; brewed with 7 malts for a round & full-bodied richness on the palate, hinting at pepper and roast. Brewed with whole cherries & chicory for a blend of woody earth. Holiday spice and fruit flavors on the palate.

Doesn’t necessarily come together well. The chicory overrides some of the better elements of the strong here. Pours cloudy maroon with good head and lacing. Some oak, light astingency and light bitter finish. Tap at brewpub.

On tap at the brewery, pours a murky, deep amber with some creamy, off white head. Nose has a lot of malt, chicory for sure, chewy toffee candies, some molasses, a lot of cola, some umami notes. Flavor has quite a bit of bitter endive lettuce surprisingly, burnt caramel, dried orange peel, bread crust. Full bodied, bitter, herbal finish.
