Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - thanks to the Cad. Pours clear orange with a frothy, off-white head. Interesting nose with pale wood, white bread, honey, aged fruits, marmalade. Medium to big sweet, subtly peaty, with some honey and caramel, yeast, pale bread. Full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with creamy, ripe citrus fruits, peach, further peat notes. Incredibly drinkable.

Bottle from 2010 shared tonight at the cookout. Slightly hazy deep brown color with a minimal bubbly off white head. Aromas of caramel and brown sugar with bits of fruity esters and a touch of earthy and sherry. The flavor is rich and sweet with caramel maltiness offset with some fruity vinous notes. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Decent beer, my first time having the sherry version. I think its either inferior to the regular harvest ale or in a weird aging stage that leaves a bit to be desired before its a stellar brew again. Iโ€™m hoping for the later and an opportunity to try this again with some more age.

At a tasting, many thanks zvikar, quite clear orange to very light copper colour, aroma of brown sugar, figs and a strong sherry presence, flavour of raisins, dark honey, dried apricots and lots of sherry, light but noticble bitterness, strong bitterness that blends in and is not cloying, flavour is round and amazingly mellow. Very good sipping beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks zvikar. 2011 bottle. Slightly hazy amber. Aroma of sherry, lots of fruitiness, oak, malt and a bit of caramel. Sweet flavor, malty, with lots of sherry, cherries, plums, a touch of vanilla, a cookie note, a hint of alcohol and a slightly drier finish. Rounded mouthfeel. Very good.

Bottle - Vintage 2006 - Rum, raisin, barrel notes, booze, brown sugar and many vintage port notes. Murky brown with no head. Soured wood, nutty and brown sugar. The woody sour notes are overwhelming, this may be past itโ€™s prime.

From a 275 cl bottle shared at home. Vintage 2005. Pours a hazy dark amber with a quickly receding off white head. Aroma of caramel, candy sugar and sherry. Flavors follow suit with some hints of vanilla. Really a superb desert beer..
