Location: 16 oz can from Winooski Beverage, 8/23/15

Aroma: The nose of this beer is roasted malts, heavy malty in general, nutty, light toast
Appearance: This over pours a brown color with light brown/tan head and medium-plus lacing
Flavor: Taste-wise, this is nutty and malty, a little sweet, roasty as well, lightly bitter
Palate: It drinks fairly lightly, not watery, with a soft carbonation, and a smooth, clean closure
Overall Impression: I found this to be really drinkable and clean. It works nicely. The flavor and aroma aren't strong enough for me to go higher than this from a score perspective, but it's a minimally flawed beer with a nice mouthfeel.

Bottom of the can stamped 06/09/15.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy dark brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light messy lacing sticking around the glass.
The smell started off with a nutty spiciness allowing allowing fair cocoa and coffee to balance.
The taste was sweet nutty and cocoa. Letting the coffee become the bitter part. Lingering sweet to nutty character runs in the aftertaste. There’s no finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed good for the style and for me. Bitterness is there but not overbearing.
Overall, as an American Brown Ale it works. I’d have again.
