Pours a nice gold from a can, thick white head. Skunky banana aroma and flavor, watery, some melon. Sweet cornwater up front then finishes bitter. Meh.

500 ml can into signature tulip glass, best before 6/22/2019. Pours crystal clear pale golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, peach, pear, red apple, melon, peppercorn, white grape, light banana/clove, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, peach, pear, red apple, melon, peppercorn, white grape, light banana/clove, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/floral/grassy bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, peach, pear, red apple, melon, peppercorn, white grape, light banana/clove, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness and spicy yeast balance; and not astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this a fantastic Belgian pale ale! All around outstanding omplexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Fantastic balance of classic Belgian yeast complexity, clean pils malts, and earthy noble hop presence. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.

500ml can from Brewers Haven. Pours a pale, clear golden, small, but lasting, creamy head. Aroma brings in the yeast, honey, pale malts. Taste is sweet, more of the Belgian yeast, dry bitterness. And the mouthfeel is superb, creamy and smooth. Duvel strikes gold again.

Pour is a crystal clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is some sweet malt with a nice floral hop. Flavor is a nice pils malt with a bit of floral fruitiness. Not much of a aftertaste which means I'll probably drink this way too fast. Decent golden ale with some fruity esters popping out here and there.

Black can from Craft Brewed under the name Duvel Single Fermented. Pours a clear, golden straw color with a finger of foam that lingers. Lovely floral yeast nose, banana, clove, pear blossom, honeysuckle, wet hay and cracked malt aromas. Peppery bitterness, pear, lemon and hay on the palate as well. Lingering cracked malt, pink peppercorn and lemony hay on the finish. Great beer that goes well with food. --- Beer merged from original tick of Duvel Groen on 20 Jul 2018 at 19:48 - Score: 7. I'm assuming this beer is the same one as the black can I drank this evening; the description seems more focused on telling me what it isn't rather than what it is, but oh well. Somewhat skunky Euro-lager nose, but the taste makes up for it, with a grainy sugar-laced sweetness offset by floral hops, bready yeast, cloves, and a minor citric undertone. Not great, but the can seemed to disappear rather quickly.
