The Christmas ale in this commissioned series, and though it is apparently claimed that this is brewed to an original recipe, it was just an alias of Affligem Noël when it was first launched in 2003. Bronze coloured beer with off-white, thick and frothy head, sweetish with spicy notes (coriander), caramelly malts, sourish accent, candi syrup touch, some warming alcohol in the finish. Easily the best of the Florivals - but still not convinced this is an original recipe nowadays!

Bottle, pours deep amber with a nice tall beige head, looks great. Aroma is of alcohol and spices. I also get a little bit of fruit in the nose. Smells like it’s going to be good!! First sip, wow, dark candied sugar, a little bit of sweetness and a dry bitter finish. The mouth fades from light and crisp to slightly creamy. A few more and I’m liking this, the 9 percent is masked well behind some wonderfull dark flavors. I’m glad this time of year is here because these kind of beers are special.

Malzig-herber Geruch. Kein Highlight! Test vom 24.9.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,9,7,8,9,8 - 8,05

(bottle) Dark red to amber colour with a big foamy off-white head. Aroma of liquorice and nuts on a malty base. Sweet flavour, malty taste with hints of toffee and a lasting bitter finish.
