Originally a Special in 2006 under the name Cotswold Lion. Then became a May / June seasonal. Now regular.

Pride of the Cotswolds.

A perfectly balanced bronze beer, full of fruit flavours and aromas. Complex yet refreshing, Lion has a long, bittersweet finish

Cask conditioned at The Lord Rosebery, Scarborough. Served at correct cellar temperature. ABV was 4.2%. Golden colour, very cloudy. Low creamy head. Hoppy and fruity aroma. Distinctly hoppy and grapefruity flavour throughout, very nice.

Cask at GBBF 2006. An orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet hoppy and fruity, while the flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of fruit, leading to a lightly bitter end.

Bottle. Strange, perfumy hop aroma. The flavour has grass, hay, fruit notes from hops. Pleasant berry-like aftertaste. Thin mouthfeel.

Bottle. Golden beer with a strong white head. The aroma is very floral and dry, and the flavour is smoothly mildly hopped. Overall a nice smooth drinkable golden ale.

Bottled at Horsens Beerfestival. Clear, pale golden with a small white head. Quite hoppy aroma with grapefruit. The same goes for the flavor, but thereโ€™s pine there too. Medium body. Lacks balance in my opinion. (061028)

Bottle picked up at SH Jones in Bicester 16-09-06. Golden beer with white frothy head, citrusy nose with hops also some citrus and fruitiness in the taste which in fact is very good in this bottle form, plenty of flavour and nice well balanced bitterness, very moreish.
