Who says you have to be 6% or higher to ride the Coaster at Playland? Because this IPA weighs in at 3.5%, and no, that’s not a typo. This will punch your mouth out cold with a hop explosion like Glen, the plastic axe wielding monster at Fright Nights 2012 who got more-than-a-little too close for comfort… I hear he has a foodtruck now. Sorry about the mouth Glen.

This beer has a BOLD hop aroma of guava, pineapple and citrus up front and leaves you with a lingering flavour of ripe stone fruit, with hints of raspberry and white grape. This beer has. it. all. and will caress your mouth with a surprisingly gentle and delicate finish.

473 ml can. 4.5% with best before date 12092024. Pours an opaque whitish amber with moderate head. Aromas of mangos, orange juice, dank hops and thick wheaty malts. Flavors of earthy mangos, dry pithy orange, oats, and think wheaty malts. Strong flavors for the ABV, but seems to be just an earthy Hazy.

On tap at Shaketown, pours a lightly hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out earthy, dank, and somewhat herbal hops, with biscuity malt. Flavour has a surprisingly amount of dankness in the hops, but there's also a weird earthy, fungal character that I'm not loving. Clean enough but just not great notes being hit. Not my thing.

Clearish gold with a rich white head. Nice juicy orange. Bitter orange peel and a light bitter finish.

Okay soft clear orangey gold body with mellow foam. Smells of musty wood, soft grain, vegetal hops. Taste is all soft grain and vague hops. Ends too wet, thin, nothing compensates for this. I know a low alcohol IPA can be done well but this isn't a good example.

Gold, white head. Piney citrus hop nose. Similar watery palate with a kick of bitterness in finish. Crackery and unbalanced

Golden colour, chill haze. Light aroma of PNW hops. Dry, but not weak; the malt base is appreciated, slightly biscuity, maybe wouldn't be the top profile for a big IPA, but for this small IPA it fills a void; moderate bitterness; some herbaceous hop character.
Pleasant low-alcohol beer.

Can. Dullish amber colour, slight haze and not much head. There's a nice fruity hop aroma. There's a moderate bitterness. The malt isn't all that distinct, but there's enough of it to hold up some light fruity hop notes. Won't say it's magic, but as a mellow hop-forward golden ale type, it works.
