We made a beer with our friends at @brassneckbrew. Based on the Oreo, which we’re quite confident we can say because this contains actual Oreos. Nonetheless, Oreo representatives declined to participate in this particular beer. Don’t matter. That’s just…. the way ……the cookie …….cRuMbLeS. Sorry. Joke complaints can be sent to info@superfluxbeer.com.

While we’re throwing trademarks around with impunity, we should tell you that drinking this most reminds us of an Oreo McFlurry. Perhaps an Oreo Blizzard, but this author never spent his high school years working at DQ. No sir. Those Golden Arches were my home.

On tap at brewery. Pours dark brown with thick tan head on account of the pour style. Aroma loaded with cocoa, cream, and sugary sweetness. Flavour is similar, tastes like a chocolatey cookie; a bit boozy and some bitter malts. Mouthfeel smooth. Heavy-handed with the pastry flavours, but still enjoyable.

Very dark brown and a thick head because of the way they pour it. Aroma is vanilla, chocolate, definitely sugary. Kind of clashy between sweet cookie stuff and bitter alcohol. Some chocolate. Oreo. But it’s not coming together. Probably lacking thick richness but that’s kind of the Oreo palm oil vibe, is it not?

Nice to see an always good Superflux style brown mocha foam and a deep blackish brown body. Aroma is great sweet cookie, biscuit, honey and brown sugar, though seems a little soft. Taste is really nice honey and cookie, sweet cocoa, hazelnut and plenty of sugar. Finishes full, smooth, lingering cane sugar, perfect. Really hitting the mark here, strong dessert character and very well balanced. I just wish its aroma was more forthcoming.

On tap at The Magnet, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is ridiculous, with loads of lactose, chocolate and bitter cocoa. Flavour is ridiculously chocolatey and sweet — so syrupy and over-the-top sweet that I can't drink more than an ounce of this. And there's little depth or complexity here — just a boatload of lactose and chocolate. Ugh, that's hard to drink

Black colour, thick pour, small brown head that disappears quickly. The aroma is straight up chocolate cookies, Oreo, sure; light petrol. Thick mouthfeel (one of the thickest, dense), sweet, strong cacao flavour, vanilla, petrol, tar, followed by a big toast character. Massive, but also quite rough.

Poured from 473mL can (canned Feb 17, 2022). Black with minimal tan head. Aroma of oreo cream filling and chocolate cookie (smells more like the no brand version of oreo). Taste is similar, but has an odd artificial bitter medicinal after taste. Can't really get past that finish that sticks in the back of the throat. If it didn't linger, I would have probably given it a 3.7

16oz shared with Ryan @ Alex's. Appearance: dark brown with a week dark beige head. Aroma: loads of Oreo cookies, chocolate, and vanilla. Taste: very sweet and thick, super rich with a lot of cookies, chocolate, some kinda artificial flavors, esters, and fruity-berry notes. Finishes with some weird bitterness like I had a hot chocolate made at home from cocoa powder and milk. Overall: a bit chaotic, but pleasant enough to share a can of this among three people. Looks like these guys overdumped a cocoa powder into this one.
