Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass brownish, not black. Nice head. Starts mild, malty, modest dry. Shy roasty, not too intense. Light earty-woody notes. Finish well balanced with a light metallical touch. Okay.

Ankertau Dunkel, frische Flasche (MHD: 12.02.25) von Getränke Hoffmann, Berlin. - Die Ankertau-Biere aus der Vielanker Brauerei gehören zum sog. Exklusiv-Sortiment der norddeutschen Getränkehandelskette Getränke Hoffmann. Ob sie mit den unter der Marke Vielanker angebotenen Bieren identisch sind, verraten uns beide Unternehmen naturgemäß nicht. - Dunkles Goldbraun, leicht trüb; sahniger Schaum. - In der Nase warmes, dunkelbrotiges Müncher Malz mit runder Karamelsüße, Butter und milde herbale Hopfung mit etwas Orangenschale. - Antrunk zart säuerlich-vollkornbrotig dunkelmalzig und kaum süß. Mild-aromatische herbale Hopfung. Eigenartig harsche, muffige und blecherne Züge. Milder rezent, vollmundig, mineralisch. Im Abgang malzbitter und recht aromatisch gehopft. - Könnte ein solides Dunkles sein, wären da nicht die eigenartigen Fehlaromen. (21.4.2024.)

Klare dunkelbraune Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, leicht röstmalziger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, röstmalzig mit Karamell und Nuss. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

0,5 l swing top bottle. Murky copper with a nearly two finger foamy head in the glass. Low sweet caramel and some fruity elements on the nose. Taste starts also with sweet caramel. Some increasing malt, little bit dry. Nearly no bitterness. Below average carbonation. Doesn´t hurt.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours amber with a slight haze and a creamy and lacing, beige head. Malty nose with a slight toastiness. Medium body, or actually a little to the thin side. A hint of nuts and brown sugar, but never really sweet. Some dark bread. Very smooth on the palate with a low carbonation. 101121

Bottle from Travemünde, drunk in Wreechen. Medium brown, light haze, moderate head. Nutty nose with a bit of caramel. Quite dry for a dunkel, thin body, high carbonation almost like a Weizen. Earthy grain & slightly astringent/metallic hops on the follow through; really could use more substance.
