Can from The Baum, Rochdale. Black with a small brown head. Dry coffee and cocoa nibs aplenty in both aroma and taste, with the dry coffee abundant in its lingering aftertaste too. Its character is strong enough to hide its strength to a fair extent.

Thin beige head left a spotty cover on a coca cola coloured body. Coffee, malt & bitter aroma. Medium to thin bodied, lively & clean. Coffee, citrus, white wine & bitter tastes. This can must be off - really poor.

From tap at Salt in Deptford 25.02.22. Ebony. Dense and persistent brown head. Aroma and taste of roasted barley, coffee, cocoa and herbs. Dry and slightly waterish mouthfeel. Served too cold.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours almost black with minimal beige head. Chocolate and coffee in the nose. In the mouth the texture is creamy and slightly sweer. Plenty of roasted malts around, alongside milky coffee and traces of herbs. Later on chocolate enters the equation. Finish is malty and slightly dry. Overall a pretty good stout – and rather drinkable !
