Barreleye is a classic barleywine characterised by a rich malty sweetness and an expressive hoppiness. We barrel-aged it for about 6 months in a 2nd use Auchentoshan barrel, to give it its deep oaked character and some lingering hints of the whiskey.

Pretty clear dark amber to red brown beer, big frothy rocky off-white to beige head. Aroma: pretty stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: malty, honey, oxidized, some caramel, metallic, dried fruits. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bitter, bit metallic, malty, dried fruits, lots of alcohol, bitter, banana peel. Aftertaste: soft roast, some chocolate, very bitter, dry, hoppy, sugary touch, alcohol, banana peel.
