Tämä stout on kunnianosoitus Meksikon itärannikon vuoristoalueiden totonac-intiaaneille. Totonacit pitivät orchidea-kasveihin kuuluvaa vaniljaa pyhänä yrttinä käyttäen sitä rituaaleissa, hajuveden raaka-aineena ja lääkinnällisissä tarkoituksissa. Tällä kertaa vanilja käytettiin oluen raaka-aineena. Kiitos totonacit ja kiitos Pyynikin Käsityöläispanimo rakkaudella pannusta oluesta.

Bottled (from Lumo, Rauma). Very deep brown colour with a beige creamy head. Aroma is some toasted notes, vanilla and mild liquorice as well as ripe fruits. Flavour is mildly toasted, some vanilla, ripe fruits and some mild toffeeish notes. A bit watery, but otherwise nice.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 06/16, at tiong’s tasting, thanks rosenbergh, 20160109) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had malts with mild burnt notes. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were dark chocolate, mildly vanilla, burnt malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was watery and burnt. Too thin.
