(Draught at Bryggeri Helsinki, 13 Nov 2014) Hazy reddish amber colour with brief beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, raisins, juniper berries, fruit cake and a touch of old sweaty socks. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, raisins, apricots, brown sugar, juniper and a fairly sweet finish with low bitterness. Almost full body, quite sweet. Interesting and quite tasty. Nice and warming.

Tap at brewpub. Murky nut brown color, small beige head. Strong juniper, woody aroma. Medium-bodied. Good amount of juniper in the flavor. Light banana fruityness but more on dry side, not very estery. Notes of alcohol. Juniper overdose. I prefer a bit more sweet Sahtis.

Tap@ olutexpo 2014. Deep amber, no head. Banana, yeast, fruity aroma. Flavor has ripe banana, yeast, sweet fruits. Long sweet finish. Great sahti. Top 5.

On tao at Pikkulintu, October 2013. (rating nr 1000 this year) Hazy brownish/orange with a small white head. The aroma was rather sweet with a lot of malt, yeast, some alcohol, and spices. The taste was similar. Also some caramel. Almost no carbonation. An interesting one, I very seldom drink a Sahti.

Draught @ One Pint Pub, Helsinki
Pours dark orange with a foamy head. Aroma of caramely malts, toffee, honey and farmhouse notes. Taste is sweet and malty with caramely notes and hints of smoke and toffee. Finish is yeasty and malty with sweetish notes. Nice, quite well balanced sahti, but I’m still not the biggest fan of the style.

Draught@Old Bank, Turku. Hazy orangeish brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is banana, juniper, some spices, yeast and mild toffee as well. Flavour is banana, spices, juniper, yeast, some raisins, toffee and mild fruity notes. Caramelly, yeasty and mildly spicy aftertaste. Rather bodied.

0.25l at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Aroma has malts and banana. Flavours were malts, banana, some sweetness and berries. Sweetness was not exaggerated and alcohol was well hidden. Great sahti.

(Draught at Pikkulintu, 20121010) The beer poured brown and cloudy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had juniper, banana and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, banana, juniper, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste had sweetness, banana and bitterness. A nice sahti. A bit too much banana but otherwise no problems.

Aroma is sweetish and rather high on banana esthers. Also some strawberries and yeast. Flavour has banana esthers, some alcohol and hints of strawberries. Also some yeasty savor occurs after some sips. Sticky and somewhat floury palate. The alcohol is mostly warming and disturbs only little. Becomes a bit boozy when warms up though. Could be more rich but good still.

Quite floury and strong on juniper this year. Also messy and not as good as 2012.
