An Autumnal ale. Deep red/brown in colour, imparting a complex array of dark malt flavours, hints of vanilla and Turkish Delight with a bitter finish, enriched with floral hoppy notes shining through.

Handpull cask from the Six Bells, Fulbourn. Mid to dark gold, not quite clear. No head to speak of. Grapefruit and lemonade smell with a malty biscuit note. Bittersweet taste with a pleasant hoppy bitter finish. Very middle of the road for Oakham but still enjoyable.

Cask@Pullman Bar, Helsinki (2005 rating). One of my first cask ratings. Hazy brown colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is wood, bread, barley and toast. Flavour is bready, malty and rather bitter.

Cask gravity Notts BF 05. Bubbly beige head. Distinctive Oakham nose, bit soapy, some choc malts. Nice hop/malt finish. Some citrus and some choc. Quite smooth, still nice

Hazy nut brown, good creamy brown head. Honey hoppy nose, trefoil aroma. Well-hopped, medium-bodied. Burned molasses in the finish. Very good balanced real ale with depth in the palate.
