Hydra är en dubbel IPA i Västkuststil. Maltbasen domineras av Pale Ale malt. Lite karamellmalt hjälper till att balansera de generösa humlegivorna. Humlesorterna Simcoe, Citra och Mosaic bidrar med en rejäl beska och en intensiv armon av tropiska frukter, citrus och tallbarr. Hydra passar utmärkt till kryddstarka maträtter och grillat, men fungerar även bra som sällskapsöl.

33cl can, BB 16/11/2023.
Couleur pâle, col épais crémeux pâle/blanc-cassé.
Arôme sur un bouquet très classique des US - Simcoe se fait la part belle avec un résineux très dominant avec un généreux pamplemousse / Orange sanguine qui arrivent en rétro-nasal. Léger effet poudreux / pellet qui perce également. Impression d'un léger rétro-nasal de sucre résiduel rappelant le sucre cassonade;
Palais sur sa base maltée vient rappeler une bonne grosse DIPA classique américaine. C'est une claque et un flashback sur 2005. Le tout est axé sur de belles notes de résineux - pamplemousse, orange confite. Le volet agrumes de pamplemousse pressé revient en retrait avec une belle teneur de malt - amertume tranchante presque sur un côté pulpe acidulée. Fin de bouche sur un léger malté grillé/sucre candi.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, some mild toffeeish tones with sweetness. Flavour is fruity, floral, some mild toffee and mild yeasty tones. Tasty. Rather sweet beer.

--Canned, from Systembolaget. -- Slightly hazy pale amber, small head. Dank nose with pineapple and bread. Mid sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and bread supports a wealth of grapefruit and pineapple. Warming bitter finish.

Can from Systembolaget beställningssortiment. A bit hazy amber with a medium head. Sweetish with pineapple, caramel, orange and malt. Medium bitter. A decent one.

(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 21 Oct 2021) Amber colour, slightly hazy, with lasting tan head. Malty, hoppy nose with orange peel, apricots, grapefruit and caramel. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of caramel, toast, toffee, grapefruit, orange peel, apricots and a generous citric bitterness. Almost full body, quite dry. Tasty and well made DIPA, with a good malt base to support the hops. Nice one.
