Historic check-in. Can't remember whether it was Dawkins or Matthews at this stage

Cask. Dark amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, some dar kfruits, slight vinegar and malts. Flavour is very caramelly, sweet wooden and slightly roasted malts. Really toasted aftertaste.

Cask-conditioned at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 1/8/07. Dark red with a strong tan head that left a lot of lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, spice and red fruits. The flavour had plenty of tangy fruit, roasted malt and a hoppy finish. Excellent.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2007. Ruby colour with lasting beige head. Nice choccy aroma. Bit of curry powder, well spice anyway. Roasted flavours in mouth. I really like the roasted grain flavour and texture. Dry finish. Quirky, but like most other people at the table, I liked it.
