C: opaque motor oil black with brown lacing thin foam
N: heaps of blackberries, dark chocolate, roasted malt, light balsamic vinegar
P: fruity, lots of berries, blackberries, berry acidity, char, roasted malt, dark chocolate, slightly tart. Good, but certainly a sipper that does not go down easily.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a thick, opaque black with a small, brown head. Interesting aroma of roast and blackcurrant. Medium body, roast and then a distinct tartness from the berries. Very dry and surprisingly thin considering the stregth. But the smell is the best part. 010523

Bottle at home. Three year old. Pours a dark brown to black colour with a big, compact light brown head. Aroma of blackcurrant juice, leather, coffee mocha, ash, tobacco and some balsamico vinegar. Hint of vanilla. Flavour of vinegar, juniper, leather and oak. Ash and rye bread in the background. Has a silky mouth feel, full-bodied and a soft bitterness. Really one of a kind. The blackcurrants are very present in the aroma. The flavour is surprsingly sour and lacks balance.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken, at a slightly reduced price. ABV is 10.1%. Pitch black colour, large brown head. Strong aroma of blackcurrants, also roast malts. The moderately sour flavour has also loads of blackcurrants, on a background of roast malts. Too much blackcurrants for my taste.

Major disappointment here. Expected a lot more out of To ol. Aromas are an odd mixture out of spoiled tart red fruit, dark roasted malt, black patent. Flavors are similar to nose, sweet tart with some putrid, vanilla and salt. Not that good of a finish either. In fact I can't drink it.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours black with a good brown head, very fine. Aroma of berries is intense, felt from a distance. Chocolate is also evident. Body is only partially dense, with fine moderate carbonation. Taste is definitely sweetish, with a sour angle too. Final is pretty long and elegantly sour.
