Tight white head on a still copper coloured body - looks tremendous.
Toffee, malt & herbal aroma.
Medium bodied, smooth & creamy with a tingle on the back.
Sweet, toffee, caramel, nutmeg & honey tastes with a tangy peppery finish.
Excellent Pint of Best.

After a knackering weekend of digging new flower beds and shifting 1.5 tons of topsoil I needed a proper beer and that's what I got. A traditional English bitter with rich and sweet malts that are perfectly balanced with the bitter hops. Drinkable and refreshing and that is perfect.

Clear amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light, mildly dry and has a decent fine minerally crispness. The malts are inevitably thin but bring a nice biscuit and slightly singed caramel flavour. Ripe fruits before a touch of brighter citrus. A light crisp pine before a crisp and semi dry finish. Shows some mild esters in the aftertaste. Crisp clean and drinkable.

26/11/2021. Cask at Hop Beer Shop, Chelmsford. Pours clear pale amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of caramel, butter, sweet malt, grain and butterscotch. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, oily watery texture, soft carbonation. Increasing bitterness to finish. Fair.
