Dark blackish brown, little bit of light tan head. Smell is Bowmore, bit smokey, hint of herbal. Bit thin, bit boozy. Taste is Bowmore forward, bit salty, bit smokey, some sweetness. If only the body would be bigger to support the booze and barrel..

On tap at Haandfest. Almost black in the glass, topped by a small beige head. The aroma has lots of whisky, with roasted malts, coffee, some licorice and a touch of smoke. It's full to medium bodied, rather low on carbonation, with some warmth and a tiny acidity in the far back. The flavor too has quite a lot of whisky, with some smoke notes. Roasted malts, coffee, licorice notes and a lasting finish. Too much on the whisky side this one, but a nice brew anyway. 190503

Aus der Flasche (bottled 19.12.2018 - bbe 19.12.2023) im 2020-06 getrunken. Dieses Porter kommt ohne große Überraschungen aus, denn das Bowmore BA hat keine deutlichen Auswirkungen. Je nach dem Jahrzehnt des destillierten Bowmores hätte man aus den 1960er Jahren Südfrüchte, den 1970er Kampfer, den 1980er Veilchen/Lavendel, den 1990er Torf/Rauch und ab 2000ern wieder Frucht/Torf-Aromen erwarten können. Doch von allen nichts. Dagegen fällt bei den Röstaromen ein feine Säure auf. Leider erinnert diese Säure dann aber schon etwas als unangenehme Magensäure. Es bleibt ein gut trinkbares Bier, ist aber durch das BA oder seinen Grundcharakter leider nichts Besonderes.

I have a 33 cl bottle of Oye & Ohja as provided to me by good friend Benzai knowing I enjoy the brews from De Molen. A tulip glass is at hand for the pour, a dark caramel brown liquid followed with a minimal ring of off-white to tan foam. A nice scent for sure, I get chocolate, dark berries and something roasty. And the taste, a little different, still interesting. The chocolate shows up, a bit of ash, strawberry and malt. The sensation is lighter than the imperial stouts I enjoy. My horizons are expanded, I am fortunate to try.

Butelka 33cl (BB 19.12.2023). Palone i czekoladowe w aromacie z delikatną nutą whisky. W smaku słodkie z nutą czekolady, bardzo subtelną whisky i delikatnym, kwaskowym finiszem. Dość pełne, rozgrzewające, przyjemnie się pije.

On tap at Malm� Brewing, pours black with a red tinge and a small tan head. Aroma brings out moderate peat, earth notes, booze, and a stale character. Flavour is very harsh, with sour notes, booze, and light peat. Sour and seemingly infected. Something wrong.

Flesje gedeeld door Benzai. Diep donkerbruin bier met weinig schuim. Aroma van whisky en wijn. Ik had de smaak wat voller verwacht maar de whisky smaak was er zeker. Weinig nasmaak.

Bottle shared at tasting. Dark brown color with a reddish glare, beige head. Smell and taste malts, some toasted malts, dark malts. A distant sweet note. Suitable body and carbonation. Solid.

Fles gedeelt door Benzai, geprobeerd met Inoven en Keukeman. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een dun schuim. Het heeft een gebrande houtige geur. De smaak is zacht, zoet, houtig en bourbon achtig.
