Keg at the Waterloo Tap, 08/06/22. Light black with a well presented lasting khaki crown ... full glass lacing ensues. Nose is light smoke, treacle toffee, dark malts, light spice, ashen tones, charr. Taste comprises roasted bite, spice, burnt sugar, charr, dates, fruit cake, toffee, tangy fruit rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Decent porter.

Keg draught at the Waterloo Tap. Dark brown and a little bit translucent with a small tan head. Light chocolate aroma, molasses, some soy and some Vinegar, maybe a little old? Tastes fine, very sweet with a hoppiness right at the end of the sip. More chocolate and some graham cracker in the sip. Medium body with heavy carbonation. Pretty good but not quite as good as many of their beers.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Clissold Wines. Pours clear red-brown with a modest, creamy beige head. Medium sweet flavour with a nice round of subtle tangy, leathery berries, raisins, cranberries, background roast and cocoa, burnt toast, earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, more cocoa, aged berries, light earthy bitterness. Lightly ashy aftertaste. Tasty stuff on the whole.
