Our Bock's Barrel Aged Doppelbock is an exceptional and refined beer that marries the rich, malty character of a classic Doppelbock with the complex flavors of Kyrö Distillery rye whiskey barrels. (Bottle, 0.75l, thanks oh6gdx, 20241231) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was tiny and white. Aroma had toasted malts, wood, vanilla, whisky, grass and chocolate. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, wood, vinous notes, vanilla, chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste had vinous notes, wood, toasted malts and bitterness. A nice barrel aged brew. The alcohol warmth was a little bit too strong.

Smell of vanilla. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of whisky, vanilla, rye, some salmiakki. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Lively carbon.

750ml bottle at tasting. Poured dark brown in color, near black. Heavy sweet malty brew with whisky, licorice and molasses. Very sweet, heavy barrel notes. Sipper.

Tap at SOPP Tampere. Opaque black colour and beige head. Sticky sweetish nose with whisky, earthyness, berries. Full-bodied. Malty, sweet, toasted, whisky, quite earthy flavour. Interesting, not many similar brewed in Finland.
