Unser Lager schmeckt nach Biergeschichte! Denn Lagerbier wurde schon vor über 150 Jahren in Hamburg gebraut. Was liegt also näher, als wieder ein Hamburger Lager zu brauen und zwar so wie es früher einmal war: echt, hanseatisch, frisch!

On tap from Ratsherrn flight at Altes Mädchen, Hamburg. Clear deep golden color with small creamy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of herbal hops, citrus and apple. Taste starts with moderate sweet honeyish malt, follows refreshing fruity with crisp mouthfeel and light bitter finish. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. My almost zero expectations turned into a total surprise in a way of classy and tasty brew...

Bottled@AIH40. (from bierzwerg.de). Orange colour, small off-white head, that vanishes quite quickly. Aroma is floral, fruity, some mild wooden notes as well as sweet malts. Flavour is floral, fruity, some bready malts, herbs and mild freshly cut wood. Nice floral aftertaste. This beer also gains a bit on the elements, when letting it get a bit warmer.

Clear amber, airy white head. Hoppy, bready aroma and flavour with medium bitterness and malty notes with slightly spicy finish. Pretty simple, pretty boring.

330ml bottle. Crystal clear, dark golden to amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly floral, bitter hoppy aroma, a touch of black tea, caraway bread. Taste is minimally sweet caramel malty, slightly floral hoppy, cautiously fruity, some black tea, mild spiciness (caraway). Some nice subtleties, but cautious and slightly anaemic overall.

Bottle 330ml. @ home on the terrace. [ As Ratsherrn Lager ].Clear medium to dark orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, toasted, hay, light malt - sour malt - sour grass - straw, light hoppy, grass - straw, fruity. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration, malty, dusty, old malt notes, toffee notes. As it warms up it gets butterscotch notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140731]

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, deep golden colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly caramelly and biscuity malty, slightly doughy aroma with present notes of herbal hops and a whiff of spruce. Moderately bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Dry malty base with traces of caramel, but more spicy herbal and slightly resiny, sprucy hoppy notes; dry bitter-sweet finish with herbal spicy accents. Likeable dry-hopped Lager, lacks a bit on the malt side. 20.VII.14

Thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one. Bottle looks simple but okay. Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Starts mild, malty, a bit moldy. Light fruity hints of apricot. Finish dry-malty. Okay.
