Clear dark red brown to purple beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, falls down quickly, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lovely, lots and lots of dark caramel, dark chocolate, lots of vanilla notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet, lots of chocolate, sugary, malty, soft roast, lots of vanilla, gentle acidity. Aftertaste: sweet, nice roast, little bitter, more chocolate, vanilla, some coffee, caramel, very nice one!

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with small, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Sweet-ish, roasty, caramel and dark malty, toasty nutty aroma, notes of dark caramel, toasted marshmallows, some vanilla, pecan. Taste is sweet, dark and caramel malty, slightly roasty, nutty, notes of dark caramel, vanilla, pecan, toasted marshmallows, a touch of treacle and milk chocolate. Viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly tacky palate, fine and soft carbonation. Nice, adjunct-dominated composition, but a tad too sweet to enjoy a whole bottle.

Zoet, chocolade, vanille. Meesterlijk toetje hoor.

Dessertbock est indiqué sur l'étiquette. Il est vrai que les Pastry stout & Co sont à la mode. Cela ne me dérangerait pas si ces nouvelles bières ne me faisait pas penser aux gâteaux qui étaient encore monnaie courante il y a de cela 20 à 30 ans (cela ne me rajeunit pas...) qui étaient saturés en sucre, crème au beurre ou autre crème chantilly. Bref, tout cela manque de finesse et délicatesse. Ici, fève de cacao, vanille, noix de pécan, lactose et marshmallow sont intégrés à la recette pour un résultat grossier, très sucré et qui manque en plus de variation. Pourtant cette bière a des qualités avec notamment de bons et pleins aromes torréfiés qui font penser davantage à un stout qu'à un Bock. Le visuel est sur un brun foncé quasiment noir (EBC de 66) surmonté d'une mousse brune de 5 mm d'épaisseur. Le nez avec des relents plastiques ne convainc pas. Noix de pecan, chocolat, café et vanille complètent le tableau. A la dégustation l'effervescence, trop poussée surprend. La texture, suave est pour sa part appréciable. C'est la douceur qui domine avec à la dégustation des arômes de vanille et de légères épices qui s'ajoutent. Les marshmallows ne se ressentent pas. L'ensemble est très homogène avec une amertume très modérée (IBU de 21). Le final moyennement long est tout de même plus épurée, davantage sur un duo chocolat, café. Ma grand-mère aurait pu faire un gâteau ressemblant à cela...mais, paix à son âme, elle était une exécrable cuisinière.

Zwart bier met weinig lichtbruin schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van cacao, vanille, room en noten. Geweldig bier met een verfijnde afdronk.

Fles 33cl thuis gedeeld. Cacao, vanille, caramel, noot, redelijk zacht, licht tintelend, cappuccino, licht klef, typische boktonen wat op achtergrond. Prima dessertbier. Nadronk blijft lang hangen. (21-2-2020).

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, caramel and marshmallows in the aroma, malty sweet caramelly flavor with vanilla, milk chocolate and marshmallows. Sticky, somewhat artificial, but not unpleasant. Full bodied, soft roast, sweet.

Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of sweet marshmallows, pecan, mocha, chocolate, cream and caramel. Taste has sweet creamy marshmallows, pecan, chocolate, caramelised malt and mocha coffee. Bit like an omnipollo beer, I like it.

Taster @ beer tasting with Suus @ Taplokaal Gist, Utrecht. Pitch black with no head at all. Aroma of roasted malts, marshmallows, and cacao. Taste is very very cloyingly sweet; really sweet. I was unable to finish the taster as the sweetness was too overwhelming for me.
