Our senior craft brewer Alex hails from the hearty land of Texas where a milky, spiced drink called Horchata is loved. We wanted to blend a creamy milk stout base with additions of Vanilla and Cinnamon for a sweet and spicy touch. The base beer is silky smooth, with 10 different malts and Muscovado sugar providing a sweet body and lactose for an extra creamy mouthfeel, it's milky, spiced, sweet and smooth, the perfect blend!

440ml can from S43. Black colour, beige foam head and aroma of dark malt, cinnamon spice, vanilla. Taste is sweetish, roasted malty, chocolate, with cinnamon, milky, vanilla notes and ashy earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roast bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Creamy tan head on a still black body. Cinnamon & vanilla aroma - surprise! Medium bodied, smooth, creamy & clean on the back. Vanilla, lactose, demerara, nutty & blackberry tastes with a peppery finish. Excellent.

Can from the Low Cost Beer online shop. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, brown sugar. Taste is more of the same. Sweet finish.

200ml, draught at Cafe Fiasco. Fawn-coloured head resting over a near-black body, dotted spots on the glass. Roasted and spiced malty aromas, inviting. Flavoured with cinnamon, oatmeal, and vanilla sweet lactose. Roasted mid-sweet ending, with lingering spices. Rounded mouth feel. Pretty fair. (Oslo 07.08.2022).

Black beer, off white head. Malty cinnamon aroma. Cinnamon flavour, a bit of vanilla, dried fruit, a little boozy. Decent body. Some brown sugar comes through at the end. Quite nice.

Can from Browser. Almost black colour with a tan head. Aroma and taste are malty sweet, subtle cinnamon and vanilla. Smooth body.

On tap at The Famous Royal Navy Volunteer Bristol. Black beer lasting tan head Mocha aroma light spice. cocoa flavour in mouth some lactose sweetness bit sickly after a while. spicy finish no doubt light chilli even not my style.
