Bottle sourced from Beer Republic and drunk at home (15/09/2021) - light hazed amber with a off white head. Sweet malty with notes of toffee, caramel, dark dried fruit shred, medium body, spiced lingering finish. Alright.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Caramel and spices in the aroma. Malty sweet, caramelly flavor with spices. Hint of pepper. Was this really necessary?

0.33 l bottle from 'Wijnhuis Blerick', 9.2% abv, best before November 2022, cellared for more than a year. Clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head and quite some floaties. Sweetish, moderately yeasty, gently fruity and a little spicy aroma of raisins, prunes, some overripe banana, a touch of clove and traces of ginger. Medium sweet, minimally bitter, gently fruity, moderately yeasty and just a little spicy taste of raisins, prunes, licorice, some ginger and hints of clove, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, gently yeasty and moderately peppery-spicy finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid, actually quite pleasant and well-balanced beer. Not the greatest quad maybe but I like the spicy twist.

Bottle @ home. Dark opaque murky brown color, average sized off-white to beige head that lasts for a short while. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, lightly brown candy sugar, malt bitter. Not that much flavor really. Decent to medium body, decent carbonation. Ok.
