Red wine, malt, hint of citrus and caramel in the aroma, malty sweet, vinous, fruit sweets. Toffee. Interesting beer with a lovely aroma.

The wine barrel aged edition in this serious of Singing Blonde variations, thanks tderoeck for sharing. Obviously a gusher - this is, after all, Gaverhopke we're talking about… Irregularly lacing, medium thick, papery, off-white head, hazy warm orange robe with rosy-peachy hue. Aroma of sweet grapes and dessert wine, vanilla-ish oak, canned peaches, 'jenever', banana mush, white port, stewed carrots, tomato peel, tulips, glue, orange flesh. Sweet onset, very fruity, banana and sweet grapes galore, peaches, pear, sourish accent, medium carbonation; smooth, full, bit resinous mouthfeel, bready, honeyish and lightly caramelly malt sweet middle with lots of lingering esters. More wine character in the finish, sweet like white port or dessert wine, with a strong, almost brandy-like alcohol effect and lots of lingering sweetness; spicy and softly herbal hop bitterish note and some woody tannins add some complexity but the booziness dominates. Too sweet and boozy for me personally, lacks subtlety and finesse yet still better than expected in view of where it comes from.

GUSHER ALERT!!!
Clear orange beer, big aery irregular off-white head, little stable, falls down quickly. Aroma: very sweet, oxidized, marzipan, some alcohol, ripe banana, yeast. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body, alcohol burn in the throat, right from the start. Taste: sweet start, lots of alcohol, fruity, banana, rum esters, some dried fruits. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, some wood tannins, more alcohol, bit sugary, caramel touch. So much alcohol...
