Small off-white head over slightly reddish orange beer. Whisky, Brettanomyces, bit soapy, orangepeel. Sweet, lots of whisky (not completely clearly Islay), orangepeel even more pronounced than in the nose. Bit of tarr, less Bretts. Alcoholheat and -burning; full bodied, oily. Not that carbonated. Ho-hum... Laphroaig? If this is really barrel aged (the label does NOT claim this) it ought to have acquired more depth, all the more if the impression of Brettanomyces fermentation is real. I fail to comprehend what really happened here. Txs to Stef!

25/XI/22 - 33cl bottle @ Mash of the Titans tasting, Gentse Biervereniging, BB: 10/VII/24, bottled: 30/VII/21, 20210029 (2022-1692)

Pretty cloudy orange amber beer with lots of chunks floating around, small aery irregular head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: dirty, oxidized, infected, strawberry jam, funky, yeast, bubble gum, peat, weird. MF: very lively carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish start, very weird, bitter, very peated, chemical, lots and lots of band-aid, funky. Aftertaste: more peat, unpleasant bitterness, sourish, some pineapple, funky, don’t like it at all.

Sampled @ Zythos Beer Festival 2022. A hazy orange golden beer with a white lacing. Aroma of wood, caramel, vanilla tart fruits. Taste of wood, tart fruits some smoke.

Alkoholischer, trocken getreidiger Beginn. Eine Nuance rauchig, minimal bitter, rund. Mittellanger Abgang.10/7/9/8/7
