Fles 33cl thuis. Caramel, dried fruits, pruim, rozijn, redelijk zoet, redelijk zacht, toffee, nutty, licht liquorice. (6-9-2025).

15 September 2024. At 16de Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, Kevin & Jerre!
Mocha, fondant, toast, hazelnut. Sweet fondant, bitter toast, hazelnut. Herbal hops. Pretty decent, and I obviously appreciate the choice of style.

Bottke 33 cl. Pours a clear, dark brown with an orangey hue and a small, beige head. Nutty, toffeeish nose, some crude brown sugars. Rich and immensely sweet body, molasses, a hint of licorice and quite some phenols. Very hard to drink. 050522

Sampled @ Zythos Beer Festival 2022. A hazy orange brown beer. Aroma of sweet brown malt, chocolate, caramel. Taste of strong dark brown malt, caramel, melasse.

Süffiger, leicht süßer Beginn. Trocken karamellig, moderate Herbe, alkoholisch, was aber nicht stört. Spritzig, langer Nachgeschmack. Gefällt. 9/11/10/11//11

Pours dark, caramelly brown. Medium sized, creamy off white, stable head. Scent is mild caramel, mild toffee. Hints of roast. Taste is fairly full, supported by medium high carbo. Toffee up front, with hints of caramel, chocolate, roast ( ashy, but not quite) Medium body. Overall, OK. nothing out of the ordinary. Though I really appreciate a Belgian new brewer surpassing the old-school 13 in a dozen beers such as tripel / dubbel , as well as the new-money 13 in a dozen styles such as currently (wannabe) NEIPA. A for effort, and there's certainly nothing wrong with the beer, I just miss that certain extra for it to stand out between others Wee Heavy's, though all the ones I can think of are interantional, so as a belgian brewpub, are these comparancy's even fair ?
