Blood Meridian is an imperceptibly multi-layered and nuanced red sour ale which might get you tongue-tied when trying to describe it. However it’s a perfect substitute to red wine to accompany an abundant meal.

Bottle. Brown color. Peach, soft floral notes and red berries in the aroma. Moderately sour floral flavor with peach, berries and caramel. Bubblegum. Nice.

Bottle. Beer bursts out after the opening, luckily soaking only my floor. In a glass it looks much more tame, red-brownish, all the foam is gone quite quickly. Nose is interesting, sweet berries, some malt character - and literally no hops and no acidity. Malty strawberry lemonade? Taste has slight tartness, light malty base with some rye spices - in a really lighthearted way. Again, no bitterness and not really sour either. This is weird. Falls weirdly flat, not that bad but really feels more like non-alcoholic kvass than anything else.

33cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours almost clear ruby with a fairly modest, tanned head. Surprisingly fruity aroma, reminds me more of strawberries and other red berries, some tropical fruits too. Moderate to medium sweet with light acidic notes and plenty of berry flavour. Strange one, not very sour and not very ale, but very fruity. Anyway quite refreshing and goes down fairly easy.
