750ml bottle [7.1% abv]. Opalescent, yellow-ish, golden colour with average to huge, frothy, very slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Piney, slightly floral and grassy, minimally citrusy, hoppy aroma, slightly spicy, pale malty background, a touch of lemongrass, fresh hay, salty cracker. Taste is slightly spicy, minimally biscuity, pale malty with some residual sweetness, and moderately bitter, piney, grassy and slightly floral, minimally citrusy hoppy, hints of lemongrass, a touch of lemon biscuit, salty cracker; minimally waxy overtones. Oily texture, smooth, soft, minimally greasy, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Rather savoury hop flavours, nice spicy aspects - though in no way common as miner's after-work drink in the Ruhr, this interpretation of the IPA style has exactly the gruffness probably appreciated amongst them; kannste trinken.

Bottle, danke Günther! Clear amber, golden foam, low carbonation. Classic peachy, lychee nose. Medium body, sweet hop resin base, mellow mouthfeel. Herbal bitterness, light medicinal notes lurking under the fruity hop notes. Fruit rinds in the finish.

0.75 l bottle from the brewery, best before June 2022. Clear, deep amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish, quite fruity, gently floral and a little resiny aroma of orange jam, tangerine and some gooseberry. Quite sweet, moderately bitter, rather fruity, gently floral taste of orange jam, tangerine, mango and a touch of grapefruit, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly resiny finish. Medium to full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nicely aromatic and fruity but also rather malty IPA. Well-brewed, smooth and fresh.

Tap “Sud des Monats Dezember”: Hazy, deep golden to copper coloured, medium-sized off-white head, dry leafy-herbal hoppy nose, some caramel-malt underneath (only detectable when the beer, served wsy too cold , gets warmer); moderate to solid dryish bitter flavour, milder sweetness detectable, hardly medium bodied, nearly a bit fizzy; lingering bitter-herbal finish, desparately balanced by a small amount of pale/caramelly malt in the aftertaste. Not too great, could be better balanced…
