Habitus, winner of the 2014 World Beer Cup in the Rye category, is a spicy, crisp, and extremely drinkable double IPA. We use loads of Sterling and Chinook hops in the kettle and hopback (and even more during the dry hop) for intense pine aromatics accentuated by a rye and 2-row malt base for a truly great IPA experience.

Sample at the North Park taproom. The beer is a cloudy orange-gold color with a medium eggshell white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and rye. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, mildly spicy rye and malt. The finish is hoppy up front with a rye malt aftertaste/ Decent overall.

Keg halfpint at BrewDog Bar Castlegate, Aberdeen. Deep golden colour, white head. Hoppy / piney / fruity aroma. Smooth mouthfeel. Distinctly hoppy flavour, piney / resinous and grapefruity, with enough malts for balance. Bitter aftertaste. Good beer.

Amber color with a fine tan head. Good intensity in the aroma. Medium + body and a fine carbonation level. Tad sweet and good bitterness to back it up. Complex flavor. Rye, dried fruits, bready, grapefruit hoppy and some pine in the flavor. A bit to bready and to much dried fruits to get a top score.

Sampled from the tap at the North Park location. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a combination of citrus and rye with some earthy pine underlying. Flavor has a good amount of citrus and rye with a growing bitterness through the finish.
