Tiny fizzy shortlasting head, clear straw colored. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish grassy, hay, flowers, apple cores, minerals, bark, apple peel, paper, alcohol, unripe apples. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, apple peel, sorrel, hay, minerals, alcohol, unripe apples, flowers, bark, apple cores paper. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly watery and harsh sour-ish boozy mouthfeel. Boring.

750 ml clear screwcap bottle, vintage 2020, from the cidery. ABV is 9%. Clear and pale golden colour, this is a still cider, but there is a slight sparkle when pouring. Aroma of the Aroma apple variety. Semi dry flavour of Aroma apples. A bit one-dimensional, but nice.

YG 201021. Straw color with no head. Aroma is apple, funk. Flavor is apples, funk, citrus, yellow apples, grass, alcohol. Nice cider.

Bottle, 75cl. 2019 vintage. It's a clear one, pale golden to straw in color, with a few bubbles. No head. It's quite funky on the nose, grassy and with a good dash of ripe yellow apples, some generic apple, apple cores and alcohol. It's medium to full-bodied, warming and mostly still, with a light sweetness as well as some fruity sourness. Ripe apples, yellow mostly, with grass, apple cores, leathery hints, some barnyard and a bit too much alcohol, and a very light touch of yeast. Lasting warming finish with ripe apples, funk and a faint touch of grass, yeast and sulphur. Nice, but a bit too still to match the sweetness and alcohol level. 211019

Vi er i Ulvik, høyt motiverte for en dag dedikert til cidersmaking. Syse Gard er andre stopp i dagens løype, og her får vi gå planken. I Aroma har de brukt Nottingham gjær. 16 g restsukker. Som en lekker, halvtørr hvitvin med eplesmak. Ren og balansert. Silkemyk og innsmigrende. Klar strågylden uten skum eller karbonering, tradisjonell stil med andre ord.

At the cidery with Holmen1, JFE and JKE on tour with Fridtjofen 12.06.20. Clear pale straw colour. No head. Fine aroma of red apples and cider. Taste of red apples and bitter apple zest. Good!
