Anyone who has ever met our bear-like Head Brewer, Jacob Storm, has probably noticed that deep in that always smiling face there is an extra layer of depth and mystery. And if you look really deep (Jacob hates that!) you will recognize some unmistakably Asian facial features - or more specifically, Japanese. Today most of us may see him as the epitome of an Amager boy, but Jacob's ancestry goes way back to a far more colorful past. In early 1869 Jacob's seven times great grandmother, Candelia Storm, sailed as a ship's cook aboard the Dutch merchant clipper Kosmopoliet II. Japan was slowly opening up to the world after a long period of isolation. But not everybody in Japanese society approved of this change, and as Kosmopoliet II pulled into Tomakomai Harbor on Hokkaido Island in February 1869, fate had it that the island had just been captured by a traditionalist Samurai warrior clan, and renamed the Republic of Ezo. The Samurai wanted absolutely no dealings with the Dutch merchants with one exception: Candelia Storm had spellbound the leading Samurai officer to a degree that went all the way to marriage and a baby. However, the rebellious Republic of Ezo did not last for long, and the changing times overthrew not only the Samurai republic but also Candelia's marriage, and she ended back at Amager with a very exotic looking baby boy, and a story that the locals found hard to believe.

really really nice hoppy aroma, slightly citrussy hoppy then pine and grapefruit, later i get mangoes and peaches but never too much of it.
flavor is sweet citrus fruity juicy hoppy with some pine and grapefruit bitterness but not that much. fainter notes of sweet malts. Quite hop driven flavor but the base malty flavor is great too. tastes like IPA tasted 15 years ago, and also a little bit like a good homebrew IPA, easy drinking. some bitterness unlike modern NEIPA's. they nailed the fruits in this one.

very hazy yellow colour, minimal dense white head; aroma of dill, coconut, pineapple, some citrusy, maybe grassy and grainy notes; taste has the same notes with quite intensive hoppy bitterness, some chamomile, and syrupy-malty notes; not bad, though will not be my favourite, for sure (I hate dill - and it has too much of it (I mean Sorachi Ace)...especially in the aroma)

Draught @ SKAAL Sønderborg. Pours cloudy straw with airy white head. Clear aroma of fruit and malt, with hoppy and citric touches. Bitter flavour of citrus and hops, with touches of malt and yeast, and fruity notes. Bitter and dry aftertaste with estery hints. Refreshing and reasonable, if a little thin-bodied.

Can, 0.44l. Aroma of mango, tangerine, bubblegum, biscuit and flowers. Pours hazy orange golden color with thin creamy off-white head, floating yeast particles and sparkling appearance. Taste starts juicy tropical fruity and citrusy, following is herbal, resinous and slightly medicinal, mouthfeel is warm and mild spicy, while finish is pretty bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Aromatic warrior…

Can at the brewery. Murky yellow body, off-white head. Citric, coconut, jelly, dill, peppery aroma, Sabro and Sorachi saying hi very loudly, with Simcoe in the background trying to hold them together and create some balance or connection or... something. Though... if they had used Styrian Wolf with these, now that would be something else. But they haven't and this beer is hardly a fluke, despite some dill-earthy moments. Lean taste, dry, dill, sweet yellow tropical fruit, some herbal bitterness by the finish, earthy as well, small waves of coconut keeping everything fresh.
