0,5 l bottle from kappldav123. Thanks a lot! A darkest red brown in the glass with a more than one finger pale beige head. Looks really good. Soft malty aroma with caramel and sweetness. Taste starts light roasted malty, some caramel and sweetness. Above carbonated than expected. Decent bitterness with nuts elements in the aftertaste. Nice one.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Looks good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Starts fine malty, roasty, mild sweetish notes. Some hints of caramel, some nuts. Some raisins. Finish well balanced, soft-malty. Quite drinkable. Nice one!

(Draught at Lager Lager, Berlin, 22 Apr 2023) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark bread, raisins, prunes and toast. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark bread, caramel, raisins, prunes and a mild spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced dunkel. Quite nice.

(bottle) Clear, brown colour with a beige and firm mid-sized foamy head. Mildly roasted malty aroma, slightly ashy with nutty spots, hints of bread crusts and a whiff of chocolate. Slightly roasty bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly roasted malty, crusty bready taste with shades of chocolate, lingering into the slim and slightly roast-bitter finish. A clean and nice session Dunkel. 07.IV.17

Lahev (as Reichenbrander Dunkel):Copper coloured, medium-sized and slowly collapsing loose off-white head; mild to moderate sweetish-bitter nose of toasted malt, fruits and dark-malt; moderate drier bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied and soft; dryish lingering bitter-malty finish with hints of dried fruits and well hidden hops. Nothing wrong with it, maybe a bit thin...

Vom Faß im Bräu-Stüble, Chemnitz-Reichenbrand. - Schönes dunkles Braunrot, klar; grobporiger, rasch zerfallender Schaum. - Nase leicht seifig, säuerlich, schwaches Karamel, Nuß. - Im Antrunk deutlich süßsäuerlich, nur schwaches Röstmalz. Mild rezent, schlank, fast dünn. Bis in den Abgang hinein matt säuerlich, mit Noten von Zitrone (Säure, nicht Hopfen). Schwach röstmalzbitterer Abgang ohne Hopfenaromen, mit metallischem Beigeschmack. - Einseitig säuerliches, ziemlich mißlungenes Dunkles. Fast möchte man eine Infektion vermuten.

Wiederholung, 2.8.2014: Das Reichenbrander Dunkel gibt es neuerdings auch in der Flasche. Mein Testexemplar war etwas weniger verhaltensauffällig als die Probe vom Faß: zwar immer noch ausgeprägt süßsäuerlich, aber nicht ganz so sauer. Schwache Röstmalznoten, brausig rezent, deutliches Hopfendefizit. - Nicht direkt mißlungen, aber auch nicht das, was man sich so unter einem Dunklen vorstellt, eher limonadenartig.

Malzig-milder, langsam stärker werdender Antrunk, dazu trifft merkwürdigerweise ein metallerner Ton (Fassbier, wohlgemerkt), der mit der Zeit schwächer wird, aber weiterhin präsent ist.
