Bottle at home at alkmaar Pours deep brown, with a light ruby hue and a thick, long lasting head. Nose is perfumey tonka, showing notes of vanilla and almond, some vague roasty notes. Taste is light roast, chocolate, tonka, this latter mainly in the finish. Closes with an abrupt finish, it's got a thin, almost watery body and soft carbonation. Underwhelming and too thin.

Intensiver Tonkabohnen-Geruch. Trocken vanilliger Beginn, minimale Bitterkeit, röstig. Weich karbonisiert, etwas holzig, rund. Langer malziger Abgang, Tonkabohne, Schokolade. Gut. 10/10/10/11/12/10

Bottle from Gabriel/Erzengel Cheers. Spicy but sweet gingerbread aroma. Dark opaque brown. Creamy beige head recedes quickly. Initial sweey tinged sourness develops a bitter edge. Spicy. Gingerbread and coffee. But dialed up a bit too high for my liking. Light-medium bodied. Relatively thin. Fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. OK. A bit in her face. Not been too keen on tonka.

First beer from rhoihessegold in the RB Euro 2020/01 Swap - thanks! Creamy tan head left a spotty cover on a dark mahogany coloured still body. Chocolate, malt & demerara aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth on the palate with a tickle on the back. Malt, chocolate, herbal, Tonka (as in other Tonka beers), raisins & salty tastes with a long tangy finish. Good one!

Bottle: Deep amber coloured, presumably hazy, small, loose and stable yellowish head, moderate sweet-bitter nose of dark malt and caramel with distinctive chocolatey traces of tonka; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, quite soft; lingering sweet-bitter caramelly finish with distinctive traces of hops and tonka-beans. A nice one...
