Full on whisky in the nose, balanced in the mouth. Mild acidity, easy drinkability. feels a bit oily. Nicely balanced geuze, as is to be expected by OBN. Port is not recognizable after the whisky took over the barrel, now generously delivering towards the lambic.

Amber colour with a hint of haze. Rich head. Aroma is young apples, rhubarbs and nettles. Sour taste of rhubarbs, nettles and young apples. The whisky is very subtle.

Pours a clear (though bottom of the bottle has some flakes) medium colored blonde. Rather big white head fades fast. Scent is OB , but significantly more barnyard / hay . Not very whisky like aroma's , but also not usually found even remotely as strong in OB. A sharp, slightly booze-oriented undertone from the whisky is recognizable. This seems interesting. Taste is full, tart and fairly dry, stronger in character than regular OB - whilst still maintaining somewhat recognizable, and very 'fullbodied'. Whisky is recognizable, but never dominates, or gets boozy. Quite remarkable as a lambic, with the whisky right where you'd want it to be, recognizable as an extra, but not overpowering. However, the sum of it's parts doesnt overclass both seperately. What doés make this one stand out is it's body, and it's intensity. OB character, but far more outspoken, which is always great !

750ml from De Bierschuur @ 🏡 with Ryan and Alex.
Aroma: a lot of funk, some pleasant acidity, a little bit of sweetness.
Taste: along the same lines, kinda aggressive bit more bold and sweet than many gueuzes.
Overall: very good.

Bottle shared at the CBJ BIG BOOSTY XMAS tasting, thanks to Danny, 13/12/23. Moderately hazed orange topped with an off white cap. Nose is funk, light spice, hedgerow, green berry skins, damp cloth. Taste comprises funk, barnyard, apple skins, green berry must, mellow whisky lick, damp oak. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a good puckering spice. Solid.

Bottle shared. Almost clear dark golden with almost white head. Crisp cellar notes, whisky indeed with a bit of a rough woody edge, caramel, bread crust, oak, light herbal and mineral like a witch brew... There's some bitter green leaves and clean Boon funk. Over light sweet and sour but also some tannic bitterness. Full bodied. A powerful and very interesting geuze, I like Oud Beersel and this is a little very example of what they can do.
