A categorically big Double IPA brewed to honor our little friends and their clandestine meetings. Intensely bitter with notes of citrus, grapefruit, and orange marmalade.

Clear, with an ever so slight haze of golden and barely peach tinted body with a very large, five to six centimetre tall rich tan head that caps the beer very strongly, but pretty nice as well. Aroma of bitter hops, dry grass, hay, flowers, perfume and some light tea with grapefruit as well - quite bitter in the nose - just as I was expecting from the brewery. Medium to Full-bodied; Very rich malt bill shows some nice earthy and slightly grainy malt notes with a lot of the deep hop bitterness coming out immediately and finishing quite dry on the end with hay and grass around, before the grapefruit and lemon shows up. Aftertaste is rich and robust, with a great balance of malt and hops, a nice layer of sweetness and quite a lot of bitterness with alcohol present of course and an old school feeling that works well. Overall, almost exactly what I was expecting from this brewery and for the style - a rich, robust, bitter and old-school IPA that shows Imperial Status from the pungent bitterness, all derived from the hops - as it should be for the style! Great to sample from Indiana (and Chicago) - get it if you can find it and if you pine for older-school IPAs! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 03-September-2022 for US$3,99, packaged on 31-May-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 10-November-2022.

Can, from Beermiscuous, Chicago. Pours clear golden with a foamy large beige head, faint citrus peel aroma, low carbonation, initially sweet then medium bitter citrus peel taste, faint piney flavor, thin body, long bitter finish. The bitterness seeps in gradually but the alcohol content is well covered. Deceptively easy to drink.

From a pounder can pale, really big volatile pine nose. First swig confirms the boozy nose, its big fat, and on style, side to side double imperial IPA fer sher, whew. Hardly any co2, just plain mouth coating flat. Scary brew. Yes, terribly on style.

Short pour at the Circuit. Hazy golden pour, thick, fluffy head. Fruity, hoppy aroma, citrus. Taste is orange and grapefruit, citrus peel, bready malts, creamy feel. Alcohol is slow to seep in, but when it does.. Wham!
