On tap. Ours black with light head. Aromas of dry dark chocolate and roasted malts. Flavors follow same with more sweetened chocolate. OK

Poured from the tap. Medium dark brown with small white head. Molasses, toasted malt, feint coffee underlay.

Dark brown. Thin head. The aroma is malty with some dark sugars, subtle fruitiness, touch of caramel. On the palate, similar. Has some dark sugars and gentle fruitiness. Medium body but with a cask-esque acidity in the finish. But that also means that more malt complexity or hop bitterness would help...you don't want tartness to be the signature character here.

Has a darker molasses body and and minimal foam. Aroma is okay sweet molasses, soft coffee and dark biscuit. Taste is a nice meld of bitter molasses and coffee ending smooth but a little thin. Pretty good, almost there.
