Citrussy but heavy bitter. Fun, but not really my thing.. Softer and less harsh after a bit of warming.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Lior D’s place. Thanks Max. Black with a big tan head. Aroma of roast, coffee, oranges, ash. Bittersweet flavor, slightly sourish, with roast, coffee, chocolate, a bit of orange, ash. Medium to full-bodied, rounded.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Pitch black, dark mocha head. Rich black malts nose, lots of licorice sweets and candied orange peel. The taste is really roasty, without being acrid. Balanced by just eight sticky molasses and licorice, big bitterness - ranging from pine to zest - and some charred wood in the after taste. Smooth mouthfeel. A rich tasty porter.

Bottle. Dark creamy pour. Aroma of Orange zest, roasted malt, chocolate and licorice. Taste is quite fruity, with lots of orange, bitter citrus, licorice, cacao, roasted malt and a dry bitter hoppy roast finish. Very tasty.

Dunkel malziger, deutlich fruchtiger Beginn. Leicht bitter, steigend herb, Schokoladennoten. Harmonisch, intensiver werdend, erstaunlicherweise sogar etwas hopfig. Cremig schokoladiger Nachhall. 12/11/10/11/10/11

Shared 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a foamy chocolatey head. Some light colored particles floating around; presumably (hopefully!) the orange zest. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate, but also has a clashing pungent smell. Taste is more roasted malt, chocolate, and faint orange zest. Floral hops bitterness and acidity is at odds with the roasty, chocolatety flavors. It’s okay, but was hoping for better.

Bottle, BB 15.04.17 (from Koht). Pours dark brown-black with light brown head. The head stays. Aroma is bitter, roast, licorice, coffee. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, coffee, licorice, some orange notes. Finish is roast-pine bitter with strong licorice notes. Alcohol is well covered. Overall: ok, but a bit over the top (unbalanced). Drinkability isn’t really good (wouldn’t want 2nd bottle).

330ml bottle from Cornelius. Pours black with a thick tan head. Strong chocolate orange aromas. Dark chocolate and candied peel. Light roast. Taste is like Christmas, minus the spice. Chocolate orange all over. It’s not Terry’s, it’s mine.
