Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a hazy amber with an off-white head. Yeasty, phenollic aroma with quite a boozy edge to it. Medium body, big bubbles, a dry fruitiness, the jenever really comes through but mainly as a rather crude booziness. Rough. 200812

Bottle at Chris O’s pre-GBBF shindig 2012. Amber pour with a white head. Butterscotch, toffee apple aroma. Sweet nose. Flavours of malt, wood, toffee. Very dry. Long alcohol burn. Interesting.

Bottle at Chriso’s 2012 Pre-GBBF tasting. It pours cloudy golden, with a thin white head. The nose is really sweet, pear drops, red apple, peach, candy and white sugar. The taste is wood, alcohol, pear drops, apple, gin, spice, grapefruit, sweet malt and some serious alcohol warmth. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Interesting but too sweet and boozy for me.

Towering light-beige head over initially very small volume of hazy, lively carbonated orange-amber beer. Yeasty, malty and alcoholic nose. Actually good for getting an instant hangover... Quite estery (yeast-, banana-,...) Liquorice², alcohol with indeed a spicy (aniseed? juniper?) jenever flavour. Remarkably, the beer betters warming up, developing a sweetish flavour, not unlike rosewater. Hot and fiery. Well-bodied and well-carbonated. Frankly, I prefer my jenever neat, and AFTER my beer...
