Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - deep brown and opaque. Creamy, almost yellow head. Nose - toffee, treacle and wood spice. Taste - chewy toffee, hazelnut, spice and wood. Palate - medium bodied with a chewy middle and finish. Overall - good.

Bottle at ash's. Pours deep amber, nose is caramel, vanilla, ginger, treacle, taste is treacle, caramel, malty, chewy.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666 at Ash's. Pours hazy dark brown with a thick tan head. Aromas of treacle and ginger. Taste is spicy and more toffee. A bit thin on the finish.

Keg at Heist Brew Taproom, Ratebeer Sheffield mini-gathering 04Mar2023. Brown colour, white foam head, and aroma of malt, caramel, biscuit, spice. Taste is sweetish malty, biscuit, dried fruit, caramel, hints of chocolate & spice, some bitterness. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, malty finish. Quite drinkable.

Keg draught at the Heist Taproom, Sheffield. Light brown, clear with a small smattering of off-white head. Clove aroma, other aromatic cooking sspices. Sweet taste with the spiciness to the fore. Not a lot of character otherwise. Some bitterness in the balanced finish. Thin body with medium carbonation. Not great.

Tap at mad Squirrel watford. Opening night. A murky nut brown chestnut coloured pour with a fine halo of khaki head. Aroma is semi sweet, sticky toffee, brown sugars, earthy, brandy snap sugars, light booze. Barley wine notes. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, sticky hop, toffee, cakey malts, brandy snap sugars, boozy malts, toffee, dried fruits, bitter alcohol bite. Palate is medium sweet, alcohol, moderate carbonation. Decent boozy action.

Third of a pint at the brewpub. Thin ring beige head. Hazy amber pour. Well hidden alcohol. Nicely balanced

Keg at MS HW, 19/02/22. Rich mahogany brown with a good sized beige cap that clears to edgework. Nose is fruit cake, nutty, marzipan, biscuit, toffee. Taste comprises stewed fruits, raisins, figs, liquorice, booze tunes, fruit cake mix, toffee fudge. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid stuff.
