New England IPA by Dok, with 'hipster hops' Ekuanot, Sabro and the as yet unnamed HBC 472. Snow white, medium thick, slowly breaking and opening head, hazy ochre-tinged yellow blonde robe, looking a bit milky even. Aroma of orange zest, mandarin juice, green banana, unripe pineapple, raw potato, white bread, green mango. Fruity onset, lively carbonation (bit much so for a NEIPA perhaps), sweetish pineapple, banana and mango impressions, quite full and creamy body; lovely doughy malt sweetish core flavoured with very aromatic, yet not overly 'tropical' hops, adding notes of guava, mango and mandarin in an elegant, somewhat subdued way (at least for this genre). The hops also deposit a long, weedy, spicy bitterness, again atypical for NEIPA, but not an issue for me personally - at all. Quite 'restrained' and hop bitter for a NEIPA so in that sense, this may not entirely be what the geeks expect, but certainly well-made and very drinkable.

2 June 2022. At Hal 16 (Dok Brewing). Hazy yellow, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of unripe peach, guava, mango, mandarin peel, starch, bread crust, spring onion. Taste has sweetish peach & mango, some sweet-sour guava in a bready, doughy malt body with zesty notes surrounding it. Floral hoppy finish, bit piney, lingering dry citrus peel & stonefruit, juicy yet equally bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Nicely balanced Hazy.

15/VI/22 - on tap @ DOK Brewing Company (Gent), BB: n/a (2022-700)

Cloudy blond beer, small creamy off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: juicy indeed, lots of pineapple, tropical fruits. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, good bitterness, pretty soapy, coriander, grains, rather bitter. Aftertaste: hoppy, soapy bitterness, floral, some orange peel, malty, grains, meh. It smells way better than it tastes.
