Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, batch 20150129 BB 05-16, large sample. Tasting the Vital and the Kazbek side by side. Vital shows almost clear golden color, medium frothy slight off-white head vs the Kazbek slight hazy golden color, medium frothy slight off-white head. Vital has grassy hops, slight spicy yeast, bit grainy malt. Spicy, earthy and grassy notes. Slight citrus, bit cookie. Kazbek shows a bit more white wine like fruitiness and seems less powerful in the nose. Slight funky pineapple note even. It could even be a slight infection. Prefer the Vital on this one. Vital version has slight sweet grainy malts, lime, medium bitterness. Dry biscuity finish, quite bitter as well. Saison yeast gives the slight spicy note, but it’s the grains and hop that come out quite strong. Kazbek has a similar bitterness, but a bit more citrussy. Again grainy malts give some sweetness. In flavor they are less different than in aroma, although differences are not that big. Quite interesting to see these relatively unknown hops. I prefer the Vital version
