Bourbon barrel-aged salted peanut imperial stout 13.3%
Last year, Amundsen (Oslo) visited us and we put a velvety imperial stout into freshly emptied bourbon barrels. After 14 months, we pulled the beer and added over a quarter-tonne of peanuts. A touch of salt provides the perfect balance to the sweet and savory roasted-nut flavor, while the bourbon gives finishing notes of vanilla, oak and caramel.

Thank you Gunnfryd for sharing this - Black with a brown head - Drk malt and chocolate aroma - Dark malt body with chocolate, coffee and peanut flavours with some sweet vanilla notes from wood barrel - Malt chocolate flavours along with some vanilla wood flavours goes into the finsih - This was real good

YGE 261123. Black color with no head. Aroma is bourbon, peanut, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, bourbon, peanut, sugar, chocolate, coffee, caramel, alcohol, oak spices.

Bottle, 375ml. An oily pour reveals an almost black body. No head at all, and no visible carbonation. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, peanut, caramel, alcohol and booze and a light oaked touch in the aroma. Some spiced hints and a good dash of chocolate too. It's full-bodied and warming, sweet, smooth and with a light bitterness. Roasted malts, peanut, bourbon-booze, caramel sauce and some oaked notes in the flavor. Quite a lot of dark chocolate too. Lasting finish. A superbly smooth and very tasteful beer, lovely peanut flavor too. 231126

7-3-8-4-16 Bottle, #1565, four years before bbd. Pours black, with a small, short lived head mocha head. Aroma is roasted malts with sweet liquorice, dark chocolate and muscovado, as well as peanut butter, dark fruity notes, tannins and wooden barrels. Creamy, velvety body, with almost no carbonation. Flavour is sweet roasted malts with chocolate, coffee, muscovado and liquorice, as well as peanut butter, caramel, vanilla and wooden barrels. Very sweet, but with a backbone to handle it.

Draught@TCBW2022. Black colour with no head. Aroma is salted peanut butter, some alcohol, mild plum and liquorice to it. Flavour is sweet malts, alcohol, some salted peanut butter with mild toffee and some almondy tones too. Smooth.

Bottle sample at a Yana's tasting at Max's place. Black. Bourbon, peanuts, vanilla, chocolate, nuts, sweet, full-bodied, rounded. A bittoo sweet and sugary but still very good.

375 ml gold waxed bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 13.3%. Pitch black colour, small brown head disappears instantly. Aroma of salted peanuts, hints of roast malts, caramel, molasses, vanilla and bourbon. Minimal carbonation, sticky mouthfeel. Very sweet flavour (way too sweet), with the same elements as the aroma. Would not buy again.
